Preschool - 3.8, 3.10, 3.15, 3.17, 3.22, 3.29 & 3.31

He is Risen ~ Alleluia! Jesus said, “Go tell everyone the good news. Make new disciples. Baptize them and teach them to obey my commandments. Don’t ever forget, I will always be with you.”  This was the message the Prekindergarten and Preschoolers shared on Sunday, April 3rd while singing in church. You each did an amazing job. Well done!

We have been busy during the month of March! From St. Patrick’s Day and Lucky the Leprechaun glittering our room, to making bread and breaking it amongst friends, to making resurrection rolls, as well as an Easter Egg Hunt. Those however, only highlighted a few events that occurred over the past few weeks!

Mr. I came to visit our class. He likes to measure things and investigate insects. He also likes when things work together. Ms. Angie shared with the classes many different means of measuring items. We even measured a few preschoolers! During class time, we also reviewed the Magic Box with the Letter I items.

During Jesus Time we studied the Easter story and opened our resurrection eggs. Each resurrection egg included a small token to serve as a reminder of each important aspect of Jesus’ journey:
  • Egg 1 – The Donkey. The donkey reminds us of Christ’s entry into Jerusalem.
  • Egg 2 – Three Coins. The coins remind us of the 30 pieces of silver Judas received for betraying Jesus into the hands of the Jewish leaders.
  • Egg 3 – The Cup. The cup reminds us of Jesus’ last supper with His disciples before His crucifixion. It was what was used for the wine, which is drank in memory of Christ’s blood that He shed for us and our sins.
  • Egg 4 – Praying Hands. The praying hands remind us of Jesus visiting the Garden of Gethsemane to pray.
  • Egg 5 – Leather Strip. The leather reminds us the whip used to give Jesus 39 lashes after His trial by Pilate.
  • Egg 6 – Crown of Thorns. The crown of thorns reminds us of the crown that the soldiers placed on Jesus’ head while mocking Him, saying “Hail, King of the Jews!”
  • Egg 7 – Three Nails. The three nails remind us of the nails that were driven into Jesus’ hands and feet to nail Him to the cross.
  • Egg 8 – One Die. This one die reminds us of the Roman soldiers gambling for Jesus’ robe.
  • Egg 9 – The Spear. This item reminds us of the spear that the Roman soldiers used to pierce Jesus’ side when He was on the cross.
  • Egg 10 – Linen. The linen reminds us of the cloth used by Joseph of Arimathea to wrap Jesus’ body after He dies on the cross.
  • Egg 11 – The Stone. The stone reminds us of the tomb with the stone rolled away.
  • Egg 12 – The Empty Egg. The empty egg reminds us of the empty tomb and Jesus’ resurrection from the dead.

Pastor Coe came to visit the morning class on March 10th and shared the story of Claire and her soccer game. Sometimes our prayers can be selfish. They can be about what we want and when we think we need it. However, God has His own plan for us. It is important to know that we can always talk to Him about everything, but it is also important to remember His Will Be Done. Just as Jesus accepted His Father’s Will for dying on the cross.

During art time, we spent time painting lots of green things. These included shamrocks with sponges, as well as making our own shamrock hats out of painted paper plates. We designed our grass head cups and watched the hair (grass) grow these past few weeks. We used a marble to help paint a paper yellow and then practiced our cutting skills to cut out a cross. Check out our Jesus is the Light picture below. The students have come a long way on their cutting skills. Finally, we worked on writing our names and letters in shaving cream. Our table shined brightly after this project!

The students have been very busy during seatwork time too. We focused on identifying shapes and colors by playing bingo. We continued working on cutting and putting stories in sequence. The students continue to work on writing their names, as well as letter practice.

Our days are also filled with things such as music, dancing, reading, group and center time, as well as spending time outdoors. Each day we work on calendar time, reviewing the weather, and reciting the Pledges to the Flag and Cross. We are blessed to be able to share the love of Jesus during these times as well. As stated numerous times, Ms. Angie and I are thankful that we have the opportunity to work with your child. They are each a blessing and make our classes complete. Thank you again for sharing them with us!

Many pictures again :)!!
