The children did a FANTASTIC job singing in church this past
Sunday. It is such a huge step to get them to stand in front of such a large
crowd, but not only did they do that but they all sang and did the actions very
well. We, as their teachers, were so proud of each of them! Thank you to those
who were able to attend to share such an important message about opening the
eyes to our hearts.
We have been busy bees the past two weeks in preschool. This
past week we met Mr. H, our brand new letter friend. Mr. H stressed the importance of healthy eating.
Ms. Patrice introduced her own special blue bag on Thursday, which was filled
with several items that started with the letter H. We have a smart group of
preschoolers as they were able to guess almost all of the items she pulled out
of her bag without much assistance. The week prior, we did a review of Mr. N,
Mrs. A, Mr. W and Mr. M. There were a few songs the children remembered really
well! They are also doing a great job with the alphabet song. Each child now
has their own pointer wand to help follow along the ABC chart as we sing.
We have been covering the Bible stories of Jonah and the
Whale, as well as Jacob’s Dream. Both stories taught us the importance of God’s
forgiveness. These stories were carried out into our art time projects, as well
as a few of our snack times. We are getting pretty creative with our snacks,
and the preschoolers are really enjoying them!
The preschoolers continue to work on tracing dotted lines
during seat time. This last week, we worked on a sheet that had three pictures
shown per row. Two of the items were similar and the other was not. We worked
on figuring out which one was different.
The last week in September, the preschoolers also got to
meet Chef Combo! Chef Combo is a puppet that is used to teach cooking,
measuring, liquids, solids, fractions and healthy choices. We had a lot of fun
putting on our aprons and making some fresh popcorn! We can’t wait to see what
Chef Combo will introduce us to the end of October.
Just a reminder Butter Braid pick-up is scheduled on October
15th after 2:45. Please stop by TECC to pick-up your orders. Thank
you again to all who helped in this fundraiser!
