Welcome 2015-2016 Preschool Year!!

Can you believe we have already rolled through three weeks of classes?!?! What a wonderful first three weeks we have had too. As the saying goes, time sure does fly when you are having fun and learning new things!

Each week we meet a new letter friend. During the first week, we met Mr. N. He sure did have a noisy nose. Our letter friend the second week was Ms. W. She is all about words, wonderful words and helped us learn about what to wear in different kinds of weather. The past week we met Ms. P. She is covered in pointy patches, none of which are the same, just as God has created each of us unique! Ms. P also worked with us on learning the different parts of our bodies.

During Jesus Time we have talked about Creation, Adam and Eve as well as Noah's Ark. We explored the story of creation and what God made on each day. In reading about Adam and Eve, we learned how Eve ate an apple from the tree of knowledge and broke a rule. With breaking this rule, they disobeyed God and were not allowed back into the Garden. The message of Noah's Ark showed us that God always keeps his promises. When we see a rainbow, we can be assured that God will never send a flood again.

The preschoolers have been very busy during seat work time. We explored our colors during a game of color bingo. We also began practicing line tracing skills, focusing on the up/down lines and diagonal lines.

Art time has been an enjoyable experience as well. As displayed on the hallway bulletin board, you can find our wind paintings and our happy suns. This week we created our pointy patch animals using several different colored shapes. We also started our first pages for our classroom book. The preschoolers became authors for the day and created their own "What Can I Do" drawings. Creativity can been seen all around our room!

Music and movement time has allowed us to get up and move about, as well as learn a few new songs. We have also spent time exploring many books that tie into our weekly themes.

Ms. Angie and I would like to thank each of you for allowing us to work with your child. We have enjoyed getting to know each of them and watching them learn so much already. More exciting things will follow, and we are excited to share them with each of you!

God's Blessings!
