Preschool - 9.29, 10.1, 10.6, 10.8 & 10.13

We have the most amazing preschoolers in our classes! It is truly a blessing to work with each and every one of them. Thank you to those families who attended the October 4th church service and allowing your child to share their message of thankfulness with others. They all did very well and no tears, yay!

We continue to meet our new letter friends each week during class. These past few weeks we have met Mr. B, Ms. A, Ms. K and Mr. D. Mr. B shared with us his beautiful buttons and also reminded us how important it is to share. Ms. A sneezes when she is happy, therefore she says “a-choo” all day long! Ms. K has a kaboom kick and shared what being kind is all about. During class, she watched the preschoolers do kind acts towards their friends and at the end of the class each preschooler was given a kindness badge. We learned that Ms. A is a special letter friend known as a letter light. As a vowel, she helps light the way to make words. Mr. D displayed his dazzling dance and explained ways we could all be helpful at home.

Many different activities were reviewed during seatwork time. We finished off working on our open and closed circles. Our attention then moved to writing the letter “K” as well as using popsicle sticks to create the letter “K”. We wrapped up the past few weeks with learning how to hold scissors correctly and cutting with them. The preschoolers learned a new song that went along with this called “Cut It Out”. The lyrics included steps such as thumb on top, take small bites, and hold the page in the other hand very tight.

Artwork time has been very crafty! After reading the story titled “Rainbow Fish” and exploring his venture on sharing his shiny scales with his friends, we made our very own rainbow fish. Each fish displayed one shiny scale just like in the story. During another class session, we cooked up some happy toast, which was pretty tasty. To celebrate Columbus Day, we crafted ships of our own and displayed them in the hallway next to our pumpkin patch. Also in celebration of Columbus Day, the preschoolers each decorated a triangle hat. To wrap-up artwork for these past few weeks, we dazzled up some letter “D’s” that are currently on display in the hallway.

We have studied several great Bible stories during Jesus Time. These included, Samuel, David and Goliath, and then Jonathon and David. God spoke to Samuel about what faith is and how to share his faith, love and the wonderful place God has for us in Heaven. The story of David and Goliath shows us the importance of putting our faith in God no matter how big the obstacle in front of us is. Finally, the friendship shared between Jonathon and David shows us what it means to be a true friend and how we can keep our friends safe.

These are the few highlights we have focused on the past several weeks. As stated earlier, we are happy we get to be a part of your child’s day and to share the love of Jesus with them. Your children truly are a blessing!

Many pictures again…it is hard to pick and choose!
